5 cups milk
7 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 lg. can coconut
6 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. In large bowl, beat egg yolks. Add milk, beaten egg yolks, 1/2 cup sugar and cornstarch to double boiler. Cook over medium heat until thickens. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and coconut. Pour into baked pie shell.

Meringue:
Beat egg whites until stiff. Slowly add 1/2 cup sugar (one tbsp. at a time). Beat until feels smooth between fingers and stands in stiff peaks. Spread on pie and sprinkle with coconut. Bake for 10 minutes or until slightly brown.
