4 cups seasoned Italian breadcrumbs
handful of Romano cheese
garlic powder, to taste
olive oil

Directions:
Cut off bottom stem and about 1 inch of the tops of all the artichokes. Trim the points of all the leaves with kitchen shears. Rinse in cold water. Lightly salt them and steam in pan until the heart becomes tender when pricked with a fork, about 15 minutes. Remove and drain. Mix breadcrumbs, cheese and garlic powder in a bowl. Stuff artichokes starting with the bottom leaves and working your way up. Put in baking dish with water on the bottom and sprinkle the breadcrumbs with olive oil until moist. Bake at 350º for 35-40 minutes until leaves pull out easily. Artichokes may be steamed the day before. Keep cool until stuffing.
