6 medium Potatoes, scrubbed, peeled and eyes removed
6 Garlic Cloves, peeled
1/3 C. Milk
1/4 C. Butter, softened
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. Black Pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Cut each potato into 1/8. Place potatoes and garlic in saucepan. Add water to pan to cover potatoes, no higher; salt water if desired. Cover and heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cook for 20-25 minutes or until potatoes are tender; drain water. Shake pan gently over low heat to dry potatoes.
Mash the potatoes and garlic in a medium bowl until no lumps remain. Add milk in small amounts, beating after each addition. Add butter, salt and pepper. Beat vigorously until potatoes are light and fluffy. If desired, dot with butter or sprinkle with paprika, chopped fresh parsley or chives.
