1 large head lettuce (leaf lettuce can be used)
6 slices crisp bacon
1/4 cup bacon fat
1/4 cup tarragon vinegar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Wash lettuce, pat dry and tear into bite-size pieces. Place in a salad bowl. Break bacon into 1-inch pieces and add to lettuce. Heat together the remaining ingredients. Pour over lettuce, tossing as you pour. Serve at once. Yield: 6 servings.
