Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. butter, softened (do not use margarine)
2 c. white sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
5 c. flour
2 tsp. flour (white or brown)
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp.salt

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

Stir in baking powder and salt. Slowly add flower mixing well. The dough will get much thicker than other cookie dough that you do not roll out. It should not become crumbly. Should it become crumbly you can slowly add milk and thoroughly mix, however I would suggest you do this after the dough has been chilled. Cover and chill dough in the refrigerator over night or for at least 1 hour.

Remove dough from fridge for an hour prior to rolling out. Preheat oven to 400ºF.

Roll out dough on floured surface 1/4" to 1/2" thick. Cut into shapes with a cookie cutter. Place cookies 1" a part on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 6 to 8 minutes. Bottoms should be very lightly browned. Do not over cook or they will be crunchy instead of soft.
