Beef Stroganoff Recipe

1 ½ - 2 lbs. tenderized beef round steak or chuck –cut into strips
Flour, salt & pepper
¼ cup oil & 2T butter
1 onion
Mushroom (small box)
Cream of mushroom soup
2 beef bouillon cubes (or 1 can beef stock)
2 cups water
½ cup heavy cream
1 cup sour cream
Egg noodles – cooked as directed

Directions:
Directions:
Put flour (maybe a cup) into a plastic bag with seasoned meat, shake.
Heat oil & butter and add the meat a little at a time until brown. Remove and repeat until all meat is browned.
Add about 2T oil to pan and sauté the onions and mushrooms when tender sprinkle just a little (maybe 2 – 4 Tbsp) flour to make the roux or gravy. Crumble the beef bouillon cubes and add the water and mushroom soup. Stir well and add the meat. Cover and cook about 30 minutes. Add heavy cream and simmer another 5 minutes.
Cook the noodles as directed and drain.
Add to the meat mixture and then the sour cream and heat for additional 5 minutes or until hot.

Note. I cook my meat and gravy in a skillet and then add all into a large pot to finish heating . Usually the pot I cooked the egg noodles in.
