1 to 1 ¼ pounds okra
8 cups water
½ cup salt
Yellow cornmeal
Salad oil

Directions:
Directions:
Wash okra well; drain. Cut off tip and stem ends; cut okra crosswise into 1/2-inch slices. Combine water and salt; pour over okra. Soak 30 min.; drain, rinse well, and drain again. Roll okra in cornmeal, and fry in hot oil until golden brown. Drain on absorbent towels.
