1 1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp onion powder
I Tbsp. unsalted butter
I Tbsp. all-purpose flour
3/4 cup extra sharp NY cheddar cheese, shredded
salt & ground white pepper
3 broccoli crowns, steamed

Directions:
Directions:
In a small saucepan, bring the milk and onion powder to a gentle boil over medium heat.

In a medium-heavy saucepan, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Stir in the flour. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 1 minute.

Slowly whisk the milk into the flour mixture, stirring constantly, until thoroughly combined. Bring the sauce slowly to a simmer, whisking occasionally to prevent lumps. Simmer 5 minutes.

Remove the pan from the heat. Whisk in the cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Serve immediately over the broccoli.
