Holiday Irish Soda Bread Recipe

1 C sultanas (white raisins)
3 C flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 C sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 C buttermilk
3 T melted butter.

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Wash raisins, removing any bad ones and set the rest aside, leaving them slightly moist.

Sift dry ingredients together into a mixing bowl. Add eggs, stirring with wooden spoon, then slowly stir in buttermilk and melted butter. Finally, stir in raisins

Because dough is rather soft, it bakes well in a greased loaf pan.
Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
