3/4 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 well beaten eggs
3 cups flour
1 tsp soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup canned mincemeat
1 cup broken walnuts ( optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients together. Add 1/2 to creamed mixture. Add mincemeat. and mix. Then add the rest of the flour mixture. Mix. Drop from a teaspoon onto a greased sheet. Bake 10 - 15 minutes at 350º.
