1 c. margarine or butter
4 tbsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ground allspice
1 tsp. salt
2 c. seedless raisins
2 c. white sugar
2 c. boiling water
4 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. walnuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
1) Preheat oven to 325º F (170º C). Put a cup of hot water in an oven safe dish into the oven to help cakes stay moist while baking.
2) Boil water in a large saucepan. Add margarine and spices, stirring until melted. Add sugar and raisins.
3) Boil raisin mixture for 5 minutes then remove from heat.
4) Place hot saucepan in a shallow pan of iced water to speed cooling.
5) When cool, add flour and baking soda and stir until dissolved.
6) Bake in mini-loaf pans until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (approximately 20 minutes).
