3 c. sugar
1/2 c. oil
3 T. honey
2 c. hot water mixed with 2 tsp. instant coffee
4 c. flour
4 T. DUTCH cocoa (or more if using inferior cacao)
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder

In a large bowl, mix ingredients in the order given. You don't need a mixer!

Bake at 350º until center springs back about 1 hour but you need to check.

This recipe is for one large sheet cake, or 3 round pans. I make a Bundt cake and the left-over batter I use to make a small loaf cake.

This is a no-fuss cake. Great for a birthday cake. Just ice the cake and place a photograph of the birthday boy/girl on top.
Make a frame out of jelly beans or other candy.
You can also use this recipe for making cup cakes.
