5 lbs russet potatoes
3/4 cups butter
1 8 oz package of cream cheese
1/2-3/4 cups half-half
1/2 1 t Lawry's season salt
1/2-1 t black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Bring pot of water to simmer. Peel and cut potatoes into pieces that are about same size. Add potatoes to hot water and bring to boil for 30-35 minutes or until tender but not falling apart. Drain potatoes, return to hot pot, reduce heat to Low. Mash potatoes while steam escapes from potatoes, about 2 minutes. Add 1-1/2 sticks of butter, cream cheese, half and halt and seasonings. Mash, mash mash. Put into pan with pats of butter on top. Cover with foil. Set aside or serve. To reheat take out of fridge 2-3 hours ahead of serving. Bake 350 for 30 minutes.

I always hated mashed potatoes because of the timing issues. Then I found this recipe that lets you make ahead of time and reheat before eating. It makes no difference in taste of potatoes. Now no more stress!!!
