4 EGG WHITES
1 16OZ BOX GOLDEN POUND CAKE MIX
2/3 CUP WATER

FILLING:
2 TSP VERY HOT WATER
1/4 TSP SALT
2 CUPS MARSHMALLOW CREAM (7OZ JAR)
1/2 CUP SHORTENING
1/3 CUP POWDERED SUGAR
1/2 TSP VANILLA

TWINKIE FORM:
10 PIECES OF ALUMINUM FOIL
LARGE SPICE BOTTLE
NON STICK SPRAY

TAKE ALUMINUM FOIL AND FOLD IN HALF TWICE. WRAP THE FOLDED FOIL AROUND A LARGE SPICE BOTTLE THIS WILL CREATE THE WELL. LEAVE THE TOP OPEN, THIS MAKE THE FLAT BOTTOM.
THIS RECIPE MAKES 10 CAKES, SO MAKE 10 MOLD. SPRAY EACH MOLD WITH NON STICK SPRAY. SET ASIDE.

CAKE:
DISREGARD THE BOX MIX DIRECTIONS.
BEAT THE EGG WHITES TILL STIFF. IN A SEPARATE BOWL MIX THE CAKE MIX WITH THE WATER AND MIX ON HIGH FOR ABOUT 2 MINUTES. BEAT IN LOTS OF AIR. FOLD IN EGG WHITES ON SLOW SPEED UNTIL WELL BLENDED.
POUR BATTER INTO MOLD FILLING EACH ABOUT 3/4 INCH FULL. BAKE IN 325 DEGREE OVEN FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES OR UNTIL THE CAKE IS GOLDEN BROWN AND TOOTH PICK COMES OUT CLEAN.

FILLING:
COMBINE SALT AND HOT WATER, STIR UNTIL SALT IS COMPLETELY DISSOLVED. LET COOL TO ROOM TEMP.
COMBINE THE MARSHMALLOW CREME, SHORTENING, POWDERED SUGAR, AND VANILLA. BEAT UNTIL LIGHT AND FLUFFY, ADD THE SALT SOLUTION.

WHEN THE CAKES ARE COOLED, USE A CHOPSTICK OR SKEWER TO MAKE THE THREE HOLES IN THE BOTTOM OF EACH CAKE. MOVE THE STICK AROUND TO MAKE A SMALL CAVITY IN EACH CAKE. USING A PASTRY BAG AND TIP INJECT EACH CAKE WITH FILLING THROUGH THE THREE HOLES.
