1 lb. ditalini, cooked al dente according to directions on package

1 can of crushed tomatoes
olive oil
1 1/2 lbs. of chopped meat
1 onions, minced
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 green pepper, chopped
1 MBT packet
basil
oregano
salt/pepper
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. butter
1/4 c. red wine

Directions:
Directions:
In large pot, add small amount of olive oil olive oil. Saute chopped meat, onions, peppers, and garlic. Add crushed tomatoes.

Add MBT packet, basil, oregano, salt/pepper, sugar, butter and red wine.

Simmer on medium/low heat for 1/2 - 1 hour.

I've modified the recipe, but the idea is the same, a meat sauce with chopped meat, onions, garlic and green peppers. Yummy!!!

The original recipe came from my grandfather who was a lieutenant in the NYC fire department. He served this in the firehouse. He came from Donegal,Ireland, when he was a young boy through Ellis Island with his parents, Thomas and Rebecca, and his sisters, Minnie, Emma, Ethel, and Marie.
