2 CUPS LIGHT CORN SYRUP
1/8 TSP SALT
1/2 CUP BUTTER
2 CUPS EVAPORATED MILK
1 TSP VANILLA

IN A HEAVY SAUCEPAN CONBINE SUGAR, CORN SYRUP, AND SALT. COOK OVER MEDIUM HEAT UNTIL MIXTURE REACHES FIRM BALL STAGE.(244 DEGREE). ADD BUTTER AND GRADUALLY ADD EVAPORATED MILK SO THAT THE MIXTURE DOES NOT STOP BOILING. STIR CONSTANTLY. COOK RAPIDLY TO FIRM BALL STAGE AGAIN. REMOVE FROM HEAT AND ADD VANILLA. POUR MIXTURE INTO GREASED 9X9 PAN, DO NOT SCRAPE THE SIDES OF THE SAUCEPAN. LET COOL, CUT INTO BITE SIZE SQUARES.
