Personal Notes:
St. Lucy's feast day is December 13. The girls used to take turns each year wearing the traditional crown of candles, dressed in white with a red sash and serving the St. Lucy bread. The year our new kitchen was being built and we were without an oven, we made the St. Lucy bread in the wood stove. Dear St. Lucy, pray for us.
