1 1/2 cup boiling water
1 cup oats
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. yeast (2 1/4 tsp.)
3/4 cup warm water
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/4 cup molasses
5 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl combine the first 4 ingredients. Meanwhile in a mixing bowl dissolve yeast in the warm water and sprinkle with sugar. Add brown sugar, molasses, half the flour, and the oat mixture. Mix well, then add the rest of the flour. Knead about 7 minutes or use dough hook on mixer. Cover and let rise in a warm place for an hour or so. Punch down and divide dough and place in greased bread pans. Let rise again for 1/2 hour. Bake at 375º for 30 minutes or so. Remove from pans and brush with butter.
