1 c. Shortening or Margarine
1/2 c. White Sugar
1 c. Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 1/4 c. Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Salt
Bag of Chocolate Chips
Nuts optional

Bake in pre-heated oven at 375º for 10-12 Minutes or golden brown

Nana (Jean) Glenn made her cookies with Shortening and Nana Glenn made her's with Margarine.
My dad (Ron Glenn) and I (Darcy Bauer) would argue about which cookies were better and every time the cookies were made we would disagree about which Nana made better cookies.

Every time we visited Winnipeg, there was always a tin of freshly-made cookies in the cookie drawer.
