1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs
5 c. flour
Your favorite jam for filling

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine the shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients as well as the sour cream. When mixed, place dough on a floured board and roll the dough. Once rolled out, cut into round shapes. When the dough is cut, place the filling on one cookie, then cover it with another. Place the cookie on a greased pan. Use a fork to bunch holes to let the steam out before baking. Bake the cookies in the oven on 357ºF. for 12-15 minutes.
