1 cup shortening
2 cups brown sugar
3 eggs
4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Filling:
1 pkg. dates chopped
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients for dough and refrigerate until chilled. Roll like making rolls cut with cookie cutter. Place date filling (date filling may have chopped nuts) and fold over using fork tines to seal edges or use 2 cut with filling in center. Seal edges around the cookie. Bake 375º F for 10 minutes.
