1/2 gallon apple cider
1 pint cranberry juice
3/4 sugar
1 small orange studded with cloves
1 tsp allspice
1 C rum (this is optional) It will cook out leaving flavor only

Directions:
Directions:
Put all ingredients into a heavy pot or crock and cook at 300º for 1 hour, then 200º for 4 to 8 hours. The longer it cooks, the smoother the flavor.

Serve warm.
