1 box classic stuffing mix (I use Mrs. Cubbison's)
1 8 oz. can of sliced water chestnuts chopped
! cup butter
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup celery chopped
1 bunch parsley chopped
1 pumpernickel bagel toasted, buttered, and cut into small pieces
3 chopped sage leaves (optional)

Directions:
Follow recipe on box. Add to the stuffing chopped bagel, parsley, water chestnuts and sage. Whether I put the stuffing in the turkey or bake in the oven I like to season it with some of the turkey drippings.

The water chestnuts were Grandma Bet's special addition. Make sure not to chop them too small so they can add a little crunch to the stuffing. The pumpernickel bagel adds an interesting flavor and texture to the stuffing as well.
