2 C. Sugar
1 (10 oz.) loaf French bread
2 Sticks of butter
6 Eggs
2 1/2 C. Milk
1 Small box of Raisins
1 Can crushed pineapple (20 oz drained)
1 t. Vanilla
1 t. Nutmeg

Ingredients for Vanilla Sauce
1/2 C. Sugar
2 T. Cornstarch
1/2 t. Salt
2 C. Boiling water
1/4 C. Butter
2 t. Vanilla
Dash of nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together ingredients for bread pudding. Bake in a deep greased baking dish for 2 hours at 350º Stir after 1 hour.

For your Vanilla Sauce, combine the first 3 ingredients in a sauce pan. Slowly add boiling water. Stir constantly to avoid lumps. Simmer and stir for 5 minutes or until clear and thickened. Remove from heat and stir in the rest of ingredients.

The story on this bread pudding: My dad ate at a certain small restaurant a lot. He loved the bread pudding and always asked the owner for her recipe. She did not want to give it to him. But for those of you that knew my father he did not give up and finally she relented and give him the recipe. This was one of his favorites and moms German Chocolate Cake.
