2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
1 gallon whole milk
6 eggs
4 cups sugar
1 pint heavy whipping cream
3 tbsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix 2 envelopes gelatin in 1 cup milk and let stand. Beat eggs lightly with fork add 1 cup sugar (do not use mixer). Heat 3 cups milk in double boiler until lukewarm (not hot). Add egg mixture and cook until mixture coats spoon lightly (stirring constantly). Remove from heat and add gelatin mixture, let cool. When cool add 1 pint heavy whipping cream. Mix this mixture plus 3 more cups sugar and 3 tbsp. vanilla to milk in freezer.

If possible add all ingredients to ice cream canister the day before and refrigerate. Mix with paddles a few minutes before adding salt and ice to freezer to mix thoroughly. If all ingredients are not added the mixture will congeal and will have to be warmed to continue.
