1/4 c. poppy seeds
3/4 c. milk
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
4 egg whites
vanilla

Filling:
1 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 T. corn starch
4 egg yolks, beaten
1 1/2 c. nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
Powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Oven - 350º.

Soak poppy seeds min milk for 15 min. Combine rest of ingredients except egg whites. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks. Fold into rest of batter.
Pour into two greased cake pans. Bake 20-25 min.

For filling: mix sugar and cornstarch. Add milk and beaten yolks. Cook until thick. Remove from heat and cool.
Add nuts and vanilla.
Put between layers and on top, or sprinkle top with powdered sugar.
