1 stick Butter, unsalted
1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. Sugar
5 Eggs, separated
2 c. Cake Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 c. Buttermilk
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 bag (7oz.) Coconut
1 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF.

Beat egg whites until stiff and set aside.

Mix butter, crisco and sugar well. Add egg yolks and beat until fluffy. Add flour, buttermilk and soda. Fold in coconut, nuts and vanilla. Gently fold in egg whites.

Grease and flour 4 layer pans and fill evenly with batter.

Bake for about 30 minutes. Let cool and frost with Cream Cheese Icing and sprinkle with additional chopped nuts.
