"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Melt butter and honey and cool.
Add the rest of the ingredients and add as little flour as possible to make a non- sticky dough, approximately 6 cups.

When cookies are cool, spread with a glaze of icing sugar and water.

Keep in an airtight container for about 6 weeks for the cookies to mellow and become soft.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Granny Miller always made these cookies for Christmas. She'd make them in early November so they would be soft at Christmas time.
