Ingredients: 3 lbs Beef stew 1/2 C. prepared Italian salad dressing 2 C. Water 2 t. Beef bouillon granules 1 Can (14 1/2 oz) diced tomatoes undrained 1 can (10 1/2 oz) condensed beef broth undiluted 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce 1 garlic clove, minced 1 Bay leaf 1 t. Salt 1 t. dried oregano 1/2 t. Black pepper 6 small potatoes, quartered 6 Medium carrots cut up. 1 Medium green pepper cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces 1 Medium onion, chopped 3 T. All purpose flour 3 T. Cold water

Directions:In a Dutch oven, brown meat in salad dressing over medium heat. Add next 10 ingredients, bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours or till the meat is tender. Add potatoes, carrots, green pepper and onion.Cover and simmer 45 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Then combine flour and cold water until smooth (you might need to add more water for smooth consistency) gradually stir this into stew. Bring to boil, cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Discard bay leaf before serving. |

Notes: This was really a favorite of my sisters. I fixed it for her when I was staying with her when she was sick. She guided me through the preparation. I think of her each time I fix it. Love her and miss her! If there is a window in Heaven I'm sure she is looking down at us and smiling....she has no more pain and she is surrounded by the love of our Heavenly Father!
