2 1/3 C all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 C butter
1 egg yoke
1 tsp vanilla
1 C chopped unblanched almonds (optional)

CHOCOLATE DIP:
1 12 oz package semi-sweet chocolate pieces
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl beat butter, sugar, egg yoke and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Gradually stir in flour mix and almonds (if used)
With hands, shape dough into 2 rolls 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours,
Preheat oven to 350º Lightly grease cookie sheet.
With a sharp knife, cut into slices 1/4" thick. Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet.
Bake for about 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned.
Remove to rack and cool.

CHOCOLATE DIP:
In a small pot over low heat, melt chocolate and butter. Add hot water and stir rapidly until smooth.
Dip half of each cooled cookie in hot chocolate mixture. Sprinkle with chopped almonds, chocolate sprinkles or multi-colored nonpareils,
