2 1/2 C Cake flour
1 C Shortening (I use half butter & half Crisco)
1/2 C Brown sugar
1 C Sugar
2 eggs beaten
1 tsp Vanilla
1 C Chopped walnuts (optional)
1 lb chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and both sugars together. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat thoroughly.

Add flour. Fold in walnuts and chocolate chips

Drop a rounded teaspoon on cookie sheet. Bake in a 350º oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookie is lightly browned. The longer you bake it, the crispier the cookie becomes.

Makes approx. 9 dozen cookies.
