1/2 cup flour
1-1/4 cups cornmeal
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup sour milk
2 cups cracklings
1 egg
1 T sugar
water for moisture

Directions:

Mix and sift all dry ingredients together.
Add the milk and egg and stir in the cracklings.
Bake in a 400º oven for about 20-25 minutes in a black iron skillet.

This is my mother's good recipe. Pete liked the cornbread with cracklins better than just plain cornbread and she and I made this for him a lot; especially with Pinto Beans.
