2 lbs. ground beef
2 14.5 oz. cans of Rotel tomatoes
2 cans chili beans
1 can beef broth
2 cloves garlic, crushed then diced
½ of a large onion, diced
2 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. cumin
1 tbsp. cayenne pepper (more or less to taste/desired heat level)
2 tbsp. sugar (more or less to taste)
¼ cup Hershey's Chocolate sauce (more or less to taste)

Directions:

Brown ground beef with onions, garlic, chili powder, cumin, 1 tsp. salt, and 1 tsp. pepper.

Drain ground beef mixture and put in crock pot.

Add Rotel tomatoes, chili beans, cayenne, then broth, and stir.

Add sugar and chocolate.

Cook on medium for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.

This chili won 2nd place at a regional contest. The slight sweetness balances the spicyness to make a more complex flavor than most chliis. We often substitute ground turkey for the ground beef for a slightly healthier chili, and I always pour mine over top noodles for that childhood classic feeling.
