Yolk of 2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or lard
1/2 c. sour milk
1/2 c. hot water
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. soda
2 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour and cocoa together. When cake is read to put into pan, put in 1/2 c. cold water.
