Ingredients:  
2 egg whites
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
5 tbsp. water
dash salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Place all ingredients in top of double boiler except vanilla. mix thoroughly
Cook over rapidly boiling water, beating with mixer until it holds up in peaks about 7 minutes.
remove from heat, add vanilla and beat until of spreading consistency

may use other flavorings instead of vanilla like lemon, almond peppermint extracts
