1 gal. Sherbet
2- 2 liter bottles of 7Up (cold).

Place 1/2 gallon of sherbet in the bottom of a punch bowl.
Slowly pour the 7UP over the sherbet. It is OK that there will be a foam that forms on top.

As the bowl is emptied add more sherbet and 7UP.

This has been served at many, many potlucks. It is cheap and can be color coordinated depending on the flavor of the sherbet. If you get the 5 gallon tub of sherbet you can save even more money. You can substitute the 7UP but the taste will suffer.
