1 lb. pork sausage, crumbled and cooked
1 pkg. celery, diced
2 small onions, diced
1 loaf white bread, toasted and hand crumbled
½ lb. butter, melted
2 cups water or broth
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Combine cooked sausage, celery and onion.

Add toasted bread.

Toss in salt, pepper and spices.

Stir in melted butter and water/broth.

Cover and bake 45 minutes in 375º oven.

Uncover last 10 minutes.

Grandpa Gardner ground his celery, onion and sausage before combining.

Modern cooks use a packaged stuffing like Pepperidge Farm instead of the hand crumbled toasted bread and spices.

Stuffing can be added to the turkey cavities, adjust cooking time.
