Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Any large can of sliced peaches, fruit cocktail, fresh berries or canned pie fillings.
(Note: If using fresh berries or pie filling, you will need one can of 7-Up, Sprite or like soft drink)
One box of any yellow cake mix
One stick of butter
Cinnamon powder (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven just enough to melt half the stick of butter Dump the cans of fruit, juice and all into the bottom of the oven.
Add the cake mix to the top of the fruit. DO NOT STIR IT IN. Let it just rest on the top of the juice.
(If using fresh fruit, this is where you add the soft drink. You need the added liquid to make this work)
Take the other half of the butter and slice pats on top of the cake mix.
If you are using peaches, the cinnamon dusted on top of the mix adds extra flavor.
Put the lid on the Dutch Oven and place over hot coals. Add hot coals to the lid and let it bake for 45 minutes. You will notice the steam escaping from around the lid at this time.
Remove the lid carefully so that you do not get the ash into the cake mixture.

Personal Notes:
Dutch ovens have short legs on the bottom and are made to used with hot coals. Always use twice as many coals on the top lid than on the bottom of the oven. I use at least 12 on the bottom and double on the top.
A sheet of aluminum foil under the coals on the base helps with the heat.
Dutch Ovens are available at any outdoor shop. Lodge is the best brand to buy.
