1 lb Unsalted Butter
1 Cup Sugar
1 Tsp Vanilla
6 Eggs Separated
1 1/4 Tsp Baking Powder
4 3/4 Cup Flour
1 Cup Sugar
Blanched Almond Slivers

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter till light and fluffy, add sugar, egg yolks (save egg whites), vanilla, and baking powder beating well after each addition. Remove from mixer. Add flour by hand till soft pliable dough is formed.

Put slightly beaten egg whites, sugar, and almonds in three separate bowls. Form oblong cookies with about 1-1/2T dough each. Then holding cookies dip top half in egg whites, sugar, back in egg whites and finally in almonds. Try not to get any egg white or sugar on the bottom.

Place on non-stick baking sheet and bake in 350º pre-heated oven till slightly golden. Remove from the baking sheet immediately to prevent sticking.
