1 1/2 cups raisins
2 tsp baking soda
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp margarine, butter or oil
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg

Directions:
Pour 1 cup of boiling water over raisins and baking soda and let sit. When raisins are cool, add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.

Bake in 3 #303 cans set on a cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.

Her notes also say to serve this with butter or "philli cream cheese" plain or with crushed pineapple. May also use other fruits instead of raisins. I just remember us having it with butter and raisins.

I remember my mom making this recipe a lot when I was probably in my early teens (probably in the early 1970's).
