1 loaf French bread
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
3/4 cup chopped onion
3/4 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 t. dry mustard
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 c. shredded cheese
melted butter

Pre-heat oven to 400°. Cut loaf in half crosswise. With a fork hollow out the center of the bread, leaving a thick crust as a shell. Reserve 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs. In a skillet combine meat, onion, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook until meat is brown. Remove from heat and drain well. Add crumbs, mustard, egg, and cheese, blend well. Fill loaf with meat mixture. Join halves together and secure with toothpicks. Brush with melted butter and wrap in foil. Bake 10 minutes. Loosen foil and bake 10 minutes more.
