Spouge:
1 1/2 c lukewarm water
1 pkg red star (dry) yeast
2 c white unbleached flour

Dry Ingredients:
4 c Robin Hood stone-ground graham flour
3 1/2 c white unbleached flour
1 c sugar
1 (level) t soda
4 1/2 (level) t salt

Additional Ingredients:
2 c milk
1" cube of butter or oleo
1 1/2 c cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Spouge - Dissolve yeast in water and add flour. Let stand 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

When spouge is ready, heat to scalding the Additional Ingredients. Test to warm by touching on back of hand. Add this liquid to spouge stirring lumps out.

Then add all to dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Let rise 1 1/2 - 2 hrs.
Grease 3 pans 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 14 OR 4 pans 2 1/2 x 5 x 9

When bread is ready, stir out all fluffiness. Then divide into baking pans. Let rise 1 1/2 -2 hrs until bread is within 1/3" from top. Put in hot oven - 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Lower oven to 300 for 40 minutes. Butter or oleo on tops. Ease bread from sides of pan with knife and take out.

Now gorge yourselves!!!!
