1/2 c. milk
1/2 yeast dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup squash (cooked and mashed butternut squash)
3 to 3 1/2 c. flour

Directions:
Scald milk - Cool and add yeast/water mixture. Add shortening, sugar, salt and squash. Add flour to make a stiff dough. Let rise until double. Firm into balls (about 1 1/2 inches). Rise again til almost double. Bake at 400º til golden brown (15-20 min)
