3 c milk, scalded
1 c potato flakes
3/4 c sugar
3/4 c butter or shortening
1 T salt
4 eggs
1 1/2 T yeast
6 c flour, may need more

Cinnamon Rolls:
3/4 c sugar
3/4 c brown sugar
2 t cinnamon

Orange Rolls
2 orange peel, grated
1 c sugar

Frosting:
5 c powdered sugar
3 T butter
1 t vanilla
enough canned milk or whipping cream to make it smooth.
For orange rolls instead of milk at 2-3 T orange juice and zest of one orange

Directions:
Directions:
Place potato flakes, sugar, salt, and shortening in a large bowl. Add scalded milk. When mixture is lukewarm; add eggs, yeast, and flour. Allow to mix 6-8 minutes. Let rise double for about 1 1/2 hours. Divide dough in half and roll into rectangle. Spread butter along with other ingredients if making cinnamon or orange rolls. Fold dough in thirds, slice and tie in knot. Allow to rise 3 hours. Bake 375 for 10-12 minutes.
