1/2 lb spaghetti pasta
1T minced garlic
3/4 lb Italian sausage
1/2 pkg sliced mushrooms, garlic & olive oil
24oz marinara (I used Meijer 3 cheese, chunky)
1 14oz can diced Italian seasoned tomatoes (Meijer)
4oz low fat cream cheese
2 cups Shredded Monetary & Cheddar Cheese Blend (Mexican blend works)
Cracked pepper

HEAT oven to 350ºF.

COOK the pasta according to the package directions; drain.

IN large skillet, brown sausage and mushrooms; drain. Return meat to skillet. Saute garlic 1 minute and stir in marinara and cream cheese. Cook over low heat until cheese has blended into sauce and it is heated through.

COVER the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking dish with 1 cup sauce. Add layer of 1/2 pasta and 1/2 remaining sauce, add 1/2 of shredded cheese; repeat the layers. Top with remaining shredded cheese and freshly ground pepper.

COVER and bake in the oven for 25 - 30 min. Remove foil and return to the oven and continue to cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 5 more minutes.

Many baked spaghettis are crisp and dry -- not my style! This recipe is fabulous! Its like a lasagna/spaghetti casserole. Its great for large groups and can be made ahead, also freezes well!
