1 egg
1/2 cup sugar

Glaze:
1 cup powder sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbsp. melted butter

Topping:
yellow/gold, green, purple sugar (store bought or homemade with food color and sugar)
small plastic baby
shiny beads optional

Directions:
Directions:
Roll crescent roll dough into one large rectangle.Beat filling ingredients. Spread filling down the center and fold edges of dough together over filling and crimp to seal. Or you can cut one inch strips down each side of dough and flap them over first one side, then the other to form a cross hatch pattern or braid look on top of bread. Bake at 375º for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven and insert plastic baby into the bottom. Glaze then sprinkle in sections each of the colors of sugar. Drape beads on top if you have some. Whomever gets the Baby Jesus is the KING.

Note. You can leave out the filling and just make a sweet iced bread if you are short on time or ingredients.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is served on Fat Tuesday, the day before the beginning of the 40 long days of Lent. Days of fast and abstinence. During this time we have no desserts or sweet treats and no meat on Fridays, and do other personal sacrifices as well. We do get creative with our breads during this time instead of desserts though.
