2 c. flour
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. cream of tartar
1/4 t. salt
1 t. sugar
1 T. butter, room temp.
3/4 c. buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together the dry ingredients. Work in the butter with your fingertips and mix in the buttermilk. If dough is too sticky to handle, pat it with flour. Pat the dough into an 8 in. round disc. Score it crosswise (a plus sign) and bake on a greased baking sheet in a 375º F oven 35-40 minutes. Let cool slightly before breaking quarters apart to eat.
