1lb. Braunschweiger
1 8 oz. Pkg.. cream cheese
1/4c. Dark brandy
3/4 c. Minced mushrooms
1 clove garlic
1 T. chopped parsley
1 T. Worcestershire Sauce

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients except for the cream cheese. Shape by hand into a 'log' type formation. Refrigerate while allowing the cream cheese to soften at room temperature. Spread cream cheese onto top and sides. Garnish with holly or other greens or herbs.

I have encountered a number of interesting mock pâté recipes over the years and have stayed away from them. But my mother made this once a year at Christmas, therefore we also called it 'the Yule log.' I always enjoyed cutting a few sprigs from our holly bush for garnishing. It was pretty and it's tasty.
