Ingredients: 1 gallon distilled white vinegar
1 cup borax

Directions:Mix the vinegar and borax together. Pour the borax mixture into your steam cleaner and add hot water to fill line.
For hard-to-remove stains make a paste of the following ingredients:
¼ cup of salt
¼ cup of borax
¼ cup of vinegar
Rub the paste mixture into the stained carpet fibers. Let it dry and vacuum.
Urine Odor Neutralizing Mix:
Add the following to one quart of hot water:
Two tablespoons borax
Two tablespoons baking soda
Use the borax mixture to soak the affected carpet. Let it work for a few hours, or even overnight. Use a wet vac to remove the remaining liquid.If your pet has an accident on the carpet you need to get rid of urine odor and using a borax mixture to clean the area will not just get rid of the spot but also the smell.
Borax to Get Rid of Fleas:
Vacuum thoroughly then sprinkle borax across the carpet. Work the borax into the carpet fibers with a broom then let it work for five to seven days without vacuuming. This works because the fleas eat the borax which causes dehydration, sterility and death. Fleas reproduce every three to five days. While the borax treatment kills one cycle you'll have to repeat the treatment to get the problem under control. You can expect the process to take about four to six weeks to kill all fleas. To keep the problem under control, repeat this process every month or more often if necessary. Borax is not only safe for your pets but for your whole family. |
