2 medium russet potatoes
salt & pepper
6 tbsp heavy cream

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400º. Lightly brush 6 standard muffin cups with room temperature butter. Thinly slice two med. russet potatoes. Place 2 slices in each cup, season with salt and pepper. Continue adding potatoes until cups are filled. Pour 1 tbsp heavy cream over each cup. Bake until potatoes are brown and tender when pierced with a knife (approx. 30-35 mins).
When done, run a knife around each cup and place a baking sheet or large plate over the pan and invert to release the gratins.
Flip right side up.
